manzegna
Romansch
Etymology
From a crossing of Latin mentiō, mentiōnem with mentīri, probably through a Vulgar Latin *mentionia, or from Late Latin mentiō (“lie”), probably from a hypothetical *mentītiō from mentītus, past participle of mentior (“I lie, deceive; I pretend, feign”).
Derived terms
- (Rumantsch Grischun, Sursilvan) dir manzegnas, (Sutsilvan) gir manzegnas (“to lie, tell lies”)
