mușuroi
Romanian
Etymology
Uncertain. Possibly an expressive creation based on a root miș- (cf. mișuna (“to swarm, teem”)). Alternatively, linked to mișui or Slavic mesiti ("to mix"). Another improbable theory suggests a Vulgar Latin *musaroneus, from mus arāneus.[1]
