Cognate with Dutch niezen (“to sneeze”), German niesen (“to sneeze”), Danish nyse (“to sneeze”), Swedish nysa (“to sneeze”), Icelandic hnjósa (“to sneeze”), Old English fnēosan (“to sneeze”).
