neurogenic shock (countable and uncountable, plural neurogenic shocks)
- Shock caused by extreme excitability of the parasympathetic nervous system. This hyperexcitability is caused by severe pain and results in an extreme slowing of heartbeat and pulse, leading to a dangerous drop in blood pressure and hence shock.
