Prefix od- + the base mknout[1][2] (compare also zamknout, semknout, přimknout, vymknout), which comes from Proto-Slavic *mъk- (“quick movement”) (compare Polish mknąć), which is from Proto-Indo-European *smeuk-, *meuk- (“to make a quick movement, to slide”)[3]
