ridgeback (plural ridgebacks)

  1. Any of three breeds of dog with a distinctive ridge of hair that runs against the grain of the rest of the coat along the spine: the Rhodesian Ridgeback, the Phu Quoc Ridgeback and the Thai Ridgeback.
