From Middle English satet, satyt, saded. Equivalent to sate + -ed.

Adjective

sated (comparative more sated, superlative most sated)

  1. In a state of complete and thorough satisfaction; having ones appetite fully satisfied, by having enough of something.
    • c. 1603, William Shakespeare, Othello, Act I scene iii:
      [] She must change for youth. When she is sated with his body she will find the errors of her choice.
  2. Quelled of thirst or hunger.
