From Old Welsh uceint, from Proto-Celtic *wikantī, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁wih₁ḱm̥t (compare Latin vīgintī) from *dwi(h₁)dḱm̥ti (“two-ten”). Cognate with Breton ugent, Old Irish fiche.
