Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *uar(e)nā, from Proto-Indo-European *wer(H)- (“to cut (off), tear”). Cognate to Sanskrit व्रण (vraṇá, “wound, tearing”) and Avestan 𐬓𐬀𐬭𐬀 (xᵛara, “wound, hurt”)[1].
