Boundless content is highly customizable—an educator can use just the parts of a Boundless textbook that are relevant to their course, in just the order they want.
For this customizability to be possible, Boundless content is made up of bite-sized, standalone content modules called concepts. Each content module is organized in a three-part structure: the learning objective, the supporting text, media, and interactives, and the assessment items.
Learning Objectives
Each Boundless content module revolves around a single learning objective, a single sentence describing a concrete, achievable goal, beginning with an action verb.
Example Boundless learning objective
The learning objective is the core of any given content module. It outlines the expectation that a student should be able to fulfill after reading the supporting text and thus helps to frame the rest of the three-part content module.
Supporting Material
The supporting text and media elements of the three-part Boundless content module is more like the traditional "textbook" material you might think of. The supporting material includes the explanation and examples required for a student to be able to achieve the associated learning objective. The supporting text is usually about 500 words long, and includes media, videos, and other interactives.

Because Boundless is a digital platform, the supporting text can also include embedded multimedia (images, videos) and interactives.

Assessment Items
Each concept has assessment items associated with it that test its learning objective. The questions are aligned to the depth of knowledge required to achieve the learning objective, so that a conceptually deeper learning objective would have more questions associated with it to test the wider span of comprehension levels involved.

An assessment item on Boundless can be a multiple-choice question, a drag-and-drop interactive, an interactive image, or one of many other options.
