  1. Jesus found the Church

    The Church is the great family of Christians, the ones who have received baptism. We believe in Jesus and follow him, and are united by the same sacraments. The Church has the heirs of the apostles as shepperds.

   When we practise our faith in the Symbol, we say: 'I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic Church' It is like a mother who take care of us with the sacraments, guiding us to Heaven.

   Jesus Christ founded the Church to continue his divine plan of salvation. The Church, in her reedemer mission, is not a human creation, but a love act from God.

   Jesus started to preaching the Kingdom of Heaven and chose twelve apostles. He entrusted Peter with supreme power over the Church. With his death in the cross, Jesus obtained salvation for all of us, and finally ended the fundation of the Church with the coming of the Holy Spirit.

  2. Who belongs to the Church

   To the Church belongs the christians who are here in the world (Church militant), those who are in Heaven (Church triumphant) and those who are in the Purgatory, purifying their souls (Church purgative).

   Members of the Church who are in Earth have different charges acording their place in the Church: the Pope, the priests, the lay people... But all of them work together to fulfill the mission Jesus entrusted to his apostles: to announce the Gospel and the commandments and show about the supernatural life by the sacraments, preparing people for Heaven.

   The Pope or Roman Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ in Earth, and represents him in the gobernment of the Church. He can't make a mistake when speak about doctrines of Faith and morality as a master of the whole Church.

   The bishops are the heirs of the Apostles, who were supported by Holy Spirit to control their dioceses under the Pope's authority.

   The priests and deacons work together with the bishop for the maintenance of the Church.

   The lay or secular people are called to be saints, as the rest of the members of the Church.

   Priests, nuns, monks and missioners give a remarkable testimony to the world whit their prayers and examples.
