1. Geography
Geography was invented out of humankind’s curiosity to get to know the Earth, the planet on which we live. In order to satisfy this curiosity, humans travel and explore, and that is how new regions were discovered on our planet.
Geography is the science that describes, explains, and locates all of the phenomena that are produced on the surface of the Earth.
- Describes the Earth by indicating its topography, vegetation, weather, resources and inhabitants.
- Explains geographic facts, in other words, that can explain the root causes of them.
- Locates geographical facts (physical, astronomical, biological, economic and political) on Earth.

Geography is divided into two main branches: Natural and Human.
Natural Geography studies the phenomena in which humans have not intervened, for example, mountains, rivers, planets, and winds.
At the same time, Natural Geography is divided into three groups:
- Astronomical Geography, which studies the Earth as a planet within the Universe. Examples: the Solar System, the Moon, other planets, and the Universe.
- Physical Geography, which studies the shape and distribution of continents, oceans, the weather, and the atmosphere.
- Biological Geography, which studies the distribution of animals and plants on the terrestrial surface.
