Blue scrotum sign of Bryant
The blue scrotum sign of Bryant is bruising of the scrotum typically seen 3 to 6 days after leakage of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).[1]
Rupture of the aneurysm causes blood to accumulate in the retroperitoneal space and leak into the scrotal tissue via the inguinal canal.[1]
It was first described by John Henry Bryant in a series of autopsies conducted on people who died of AAA.[2][3]
