Distal contractile integral

Distal contractile integral (DCI) is a measure of the contraction of the distal esophagus.[1] It is the strength of the contract, multiplied by the duration of the contract, multiplied by the distance of the esophagus contracted.[1] A value of greater than 8000 mmHg*cm*s is seen in nutcracker esophagus.[1]
