Paenarthrobacter nicotinovorans , also known as Arthrobacter Nicotinovorans, is a Gram-positive and aerobic bacterium species from the genus of Paenarthrobacter.[2][3][4][5] Before the year 2016, this bacterium species was said to be a species of Arthrobacter genus. The bacterium species is reclassified in 2016 to be a member of Paenarthrobacter. Therefore it had a new name as Paenarthrobacter nicotinovorans.[6] This bacterium has the ability to degrade atrazine, nicotine and creatine.[5][7][8] and produces nicotine dehydrogenase[9]
