Titanium metallic discoloration is the change in skin color due to titanium.[1] Small yellowish bumps on the penis have been reported in a person applying titanium-containing ointment.[1] Dark blue-black discolouration may occur if titanium screws used for orthopedic procedures reach near the skin.[1] Titanium may rarely be deposited in the skin from a degenerative artificial titanium-containing knee joint prosthesis, resulting in grayish-blue patches over the knee.[1]
Diagnosis may require X-ray spectroscopy which shows titanium deposits.[1]
