The Thermoprotei is a class of the Crenarchaeota.[1]
Phylogeny
The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[2] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)[3] and the phylogeny is based on 16S rRNA-based LTP release 132 by The All-Species Living Tree Project.[4]

Another phylogeny recently proposed by GTDB release 06-RS202.[5][6][7]
