Not a big expert here! I'm trying to follow these guides: Use systemd-networkd for general networking and Access point as WiFi router/repeater, optional with bridge, but I encountered some problems. I have a raspberry pi zero (non W) with a wifi dongle (realtek RTL8192CU) and raspian 11 lite installed. SSH and wpa supplicant working, to setup the headless connection with the pi.

After removing the classic networking (Quick Step of the first guide), it returns:

failed to stop ifupdown.service: Unit ifupdown.service not loaded

and in a minute the connection drop and it become impossible to restore it. Any suggestion?

EDIT: I made some progress using the second part of the guide Access point as WiFi router/repeater, optional with bridge written by ircama and based of the dhcpcd. Unfortunately it is sill not working. With some research it came out that the RTL8192CU is not suitable for this application: iw list always return

interface combinations are not supported

I abandoned the idea. If someone whould like to give it a trial, at the following link there is an incomplete guide to use such wifi chip to create an AP on raspberry (not working for me). https://www.hamishmb.com/blog/how-to-make-a-raspi-ap-with-a-rtl8xxx-wifi-adaptor/
