- December 25 – Connor Roe Maguire (Conchubhar Rua Mag Uidhir) was an Irish Gaelic chief from Magherastephana, County Fermanagh, nicknamed the Queen's Maguire for supporting Elizabeth I's campaign in the Nine Years' War.[3]
