2005–06 South Alabama Jaguars basketball team

The 2005–06 South Alabama Jaguars basketball team represented the University of South Alabama during the 2005–06 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaguars were led by head coach John Pelphrey, in his fourth season as head coach. They played their home games at the Mitchell Center, and were members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 24–7, 12–3 in Sun Belt play to finish in first place. They won the Sun Belt tournament to secure the conference's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA tournament as No. 14 seed in the Minneapolis region. In the opening round, the Jaguars lost to No. 3 seed and eventual National champion Florida.[1]
