2007 Parañaque local elections

Local elections were held in Parañaque City on May 14, 2007, within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, the congressman, and the councilors, eight of them in the two districts of the city.

Background

Mayor Florencio "Jun" Bernabe Jr. ran for re-election for second term. He was challenged by former mayor, Dr. Pablo Olivarez.

Actress and defeated 2004 mayoralty candidate Alma Moreno reportedly running as vice mayor. She was previously posed to be the running mate of former Mayor Pablo Olivarez.[1] She ran as councilor instead, giving way to her fellow celebrity, Vice Mayor Andres Jose "Anjo" Yllana.[2] Moreno ran as councilor instead. On the other hand, Vice Mayor Andres Jose "Anjo" Yllana ran for re-election. He was challenged by Councilor Gustavo "Gus" Tambunting.

First District Rep. Eduardo Zialcita ran for re-election for second term.

Second District Rep. Roilo Golez ran for second consecutive, fifth non-consecutive term.
