Pre-season
No teams are promoted or relegated as of all of 2015 football competitions in Indonesia abandoned due to a ban by Imam Nahrawi, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, against PSSI to run any football competition[2] and in 2016 no official competition was held because FIFA froze the membership of the PSSI, resulting in the suspension of the Indonesian Football Association.

Notes:
- Head-to-head results: Bali United 1–3 Bhayangkara; Bhayangkara 3–2 Bali United.
- Bhayangkara failed to obtain an AFC license to participate in Asian competitions. As a result, Bali United, the league runners-up, entered the qualifying play-offs.[3]
- PSM failed to obtain an AFC license to participate in Asian competitions. As a result, Persija, the league 4th place, entered the group stage.[3]
- Madura United were deducted three points due to FIFA sanction. Madura United would have qualified for the AFC Cup group stage had Bali United qualified for the AFC Champions League group stage. As Bali United failed to qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage, Madura United's qualification in the AFC Cup was annulled.
- Head-to-head results: Sriwijaya 2–1 PS TNI; PS TNI 2–1 Sriwijaya.
- Persegres were deducted three points due to FIFA sanction.
