Season summary

The 2022–23 season began with the Charity Shield. Woolpack Wanderers won 5–0 in a match that would set the pace for the coming season. At the beginning of the season, Woolpack Wanderers going on a three-game winning streak before losing 2–1 on November 13.[1]

The third-round game set for October 30 was abandoned in the 55th minute due to the pitch being waterlogged. In the replay the next week, Woolpack Wanderers won 6–1, setting the record for the biggest win that season.[1]

On Boxing Day, the traditional match between Old Men and Young Men was played. The Old Men won the match 4–2, with Scott Reid scoring a 15-minute hat-trick in the second half. It was Old Men's first win in 10 years.[2]

On January 29, the League Cup (known as the Galley Cup) was played. The Galley Cup is normally played over two legs, however due to flooding troubles, it was decided to be played over one leg only. Garrison Gunners won the Cup 4-2 thanks to a late brace from Corey Graham.

Victories went back and forth between the two sides for most of the season, however on February 19, Woolpack Wanderers won 2–1. This victory meant that they won the league title for the third season in a row.

The last match of the season was the Scillonian Club Cup, on March 12. Despite missing out on the league title, Garrison Gunners won their second cup victory of the season. The Gunners were down 2–1 with 15 minutes left to play. Ethan Graham had a penalty saved, but made up for it by scoring a great goal. Then, two minutes from the final whistle, Paul Williams volleyed it home to bring Garrison Gunners the Scillonian Club Cup in breathtaking fashion.

The top scorer for the season was Wanderers' Jack Handy. He scored 18 goals in the league and 22 in all competitions, leading the scoring charts by a mile.
