Season summary

The 2023–24 season began with the return of the Lyonesse Cup after almost a decade since its last edition in 2014. The Isles of Scilly and Dynamo Choughs competed in the cup.[1] The game took place on October 7, 2023, in Garrison Field. The Isles of Scilly won 8–1 and lifted their first Lyonnese Cup trophy.[2]

On October 18, 2023 the Charity Shield kicked off, Garrison Gunners starting the first half strong with 5 goals while Woolpack Wanderers only scoring 1 goal. On the second half Garrison Gunners continued their dominant form by scoring 4 more goals against Woolpack Wanderers ending the game 9–1. C. Hughes scores the first hat trick of the season and Dave Hicks was announced man of the match. The Dave Hicks mentioned is unknown whether if it's Junior or Senior. After the match the first official league match was announced on October 22, 2023. [3]

On October 22, 2023. The first league match started with a result of 4–3, before the game started, all the players stood up in a minute of silence to pay respect to Sir Bobby Charlton after his recent passing. The game started with Garrison Gunners only having 10 players on the field, but this didn't affect Garrison Gunners as their striker Andrew Hicks scored a 30 yard goal to make it 0–1 up. Woolpack Wanderers immediately equalized with a goal from Jack Handy, after that equalizer Garrison Gunners player Gavin Herald arrived to complete the Garrison Gunner squad. Jack Handy immediately scored another goal to make it 2–1, the lead didn't last too long for Woolpack Wanderers as Garrison Gunners immediately equalized with a goal from Gavin Herald. On the second half, and Garrison Gunners immediately took their chances as a header goal made by Andrew Hicks sees Garrison Gunners on front. This didn't last for long as Lee Eaton immediately equalized the game, and Jack Handy immediately scored a goal again to get his first hat trick of the season and to make it 4–3. The game ended in a Woolpack Wanderers victory with a scoreline of 4–3.[4]
