2026 South Australian local elections

The 2026 South Australian local elections, also known as the periodic elections, will be held in November 2026 to elect the councils of 67 of the 68 local government areas (LGAs) in South Australia. Many councils will also hold mayoral elections.[1]

The elections will be conducted by the Electoral Commission of South Australia.[1]

As per usual, no election is scheduled in Roxby Council as it is served by an administrator who performs all the functions of a council.[2] The election in Coober Pedy is expected to be held for the first time since 2018, after the council was suspended in January 2019 and did not vote in 2022.[3]
