Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri
Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri (Arabic: عبدالله خليفة عبيد المري; born 14 August 1965), also known as His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, is a non-royal government official in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, currently serving as the 7th Commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police Force.

Al Marri is also a member of the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai,[1] an entity that oversees and supports government bodies in the Emirate of Dubai.
Career
Early life
Born in 1965, Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology from United Arab Emirates University in 1991.[2] He joined the Dubai Police Force in 1992, where he went on to obtain a diploma in Police Science in the same year from the Dubai Police Academy.[3][4]
Government roles
In 2004, Al Marri became the Director of VIP security department.[5]
In 2014, he became deputy director of Protective Security and Emergency Department in Dubai Police.[3]
On 1 March 2017, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, announced the appointment of the then Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri to serve as the 7th Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police Force.[6][7][5]
In March 2020, Sheikh Mohammad issued a decision to promote Al Marri to the rank of Lieutenant General in recognition of his leadership and contributions to making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world.[8][9][10]
Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri is also a member of the Executive Council[1] of the Government of Dubai, which was created in 2003 to support government authorities in maintaining the stability and organization of the emirate, in addition to developing its society and economy. The Executive Council is responsible for setting and implementing the general strategy of Dubai, as well as enforcing local laws. The council also sets the annual budget for the Government of Dubai.[11]
