Aqabad Rural District (Persian: دهستان آق آباد) is in the Central District of Gonbad-e Kavus County, Golestan province, Iran.

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 29,707 in 5,931 households.[3] There were 32,907 inhabitants in 8,132 households at the following census of 2011.[4] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 36,886 in 9,570 households. The largest of its 28 villages was Aqabad, with 5,534 people.[2]
