Bakaly (Almaty region)
Bakaly (Kazakh: Бақалы) is a village in the Sarkand district of the Almaty region of Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the Bakalinsky rural district.[1] It is located about 35 km northeast of the district center, the city of Sarkand.[2] KATO code - 196037100.[3]

In 1930, an uprising took place in the village against collectivization and the policy of repression of the Soviet government.[4]
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 1399 people (713 men and 686 women).[5] According to the 2009 census, 1149 people (584 men and 565 women) lived in the village.[5]
