Background and Battle
On March 15, 1701, a group of Sikhs from the Sialkot District area who were on their way to Anandpur Sahib were detained by the Ranghar and Gujar residents of Bajrur.[1] When the Guru learnt about this, he ordered his son Ajit Singh to proceed to Bajrur to punish the culprits.[2] The Sikh forces went to Bajrur and besieged the village.[3] The town was ravaged to send a message.[4] Chittu and Mittu (the leaders) along with some other villagers were killed.[1]
Aftermath
The villagers never again attacked or detained the Sikhs.[2]
