Beautiful Disaster is a 2023 American romantic drama film directed by Roger Kumble, and co-written by Kumble and Jamie McGuire, based on McGuire's 2011 new adult novel of the same name.

Production
In 2012, Warner Bros. Entertainment optioned the film rights for Beautiful Disaster,[3][4] but the project never went into development and the Warner Bros. option ended May 13, 2014. In 2020, it was optioned by Voltage Pictures, production began in 2021 with Roger Kumble directing, and Dylan Sprouse, Rob Estes and Virginia Gardner in the cast.[5]
The project received considerable public criticism due to McGuire's controversial statements and far-right political viewpoints.[6][7][8]
Release
Beautiful Disaster was released in the United States for two nights only, April 12–13, as part of Fathom Events.[9] The film streams on Hulu starting August 11, 2023.[10]
Reception
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 29% of seven critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.3/10.[11]
Sequel
A sequel called Beautiful Wedding has already been filmed before the first was out in theaters, and a teaser for the sequel was uploaded on September 13, 2023.[12]
