The Bernard Krone Holding SE & Co. KG is a German company; it goes back to the year 1906 when Bernhard and Anna Krone founded as a blacksmith's shop in Spelle. The main headquarters are in Spelle and Werlte, Germany.[2] Dr. David Frink is the current CEO of Bernard Krone Holding SE & Co.KG.[3] Bernard Krone is the managing partner.[4][5]

History

Bernhard Krone obtained his Master Smith certificate in 1896. In 1897, he and his wife established a blacksmith shop through a lease in the village of Ochtrup, Germany. In 1906, they founded the Krone company in Spelle. In 1924, the two eldest sons took over management of the company when their father, Bernhard fell ill. At this point, they began to manufacture agricultural machines.[6] In 1962, the third generation of the Krone family, Dr. Bernard Krone, Heinz Krone and Walter Krone began managing the company. A new site in Werlte was established in 1963 and the company expanded to France in 1968.[7] In 2007, Bernard Krone, the fourth generation of the family joined management of the company, and officially took over in 2010.[5] His father, Dr.-Ing. E. h. Bernard Krone passed away in 2022[8][9]

The holding company consists of two judicially independent companies:

Krone Commercial Vehicle SE

Krone Commercial Vehicle SE builds trailers, semi trailers, container chassis, changing (swap) systems, steel-clad swap bodies, insulated refrigerated bodies, carriers and superstructures, axles and electricified trailers.[10][11][12][13][14] The company has subsidiaries.[15]

KRONE Agriculture SE

KRONE Agriculture manufactures modern forage harvesting equipment in the village of Spelle in northern Germany. KRONE is one of the German market leaders and the long-term market leader in disc mowers and round balers.[16] The full product range comprises disc mowers, tedders, rotary rakes, forage wagons as well as round and square balers and includes the two SP harvesters BiG M and BiG X. BiG M is a high-capacity mower conditioner that works at widths of 13.20 m. The BiG X precision-chop forage harvester is currently the world's most powerful forage harvester. KRONE markets BiG X in various power bands that range from 500 hp to more than 1,000 hp. As the first mover in the agricultural sector, KRONE has invested in research and development in the forage technology.[17]
