Indian Tool Manufacturers (ITM) , Spearheaded in the year 1937 is a pioneer in the field of Cutting Tools. ITM manufactures and supplies High Speed Steel Cutting tools in domestic and global markets.[5] The company launched a new series of power tool accessories and abrasives under the Birla Durotool brand. This is aimed at harnessing the vast industrial knowledge and expertise of ITM in producing high performing cutting tools aimed at the hardware applications.

With IT Carbomach, which is the new series of High performing Solid Carbide Cutting tools, the company will be able to cater to the upcoming requirement of precision tooling for the Indian manufacturing sector.

BPTL has one of the vast and well connected distributor network. This helps in catering to the ever evolving demand of the Indian manufacturing and industrial requirements.

The company exports to more than 25 countries. It is listed on the BSE Stock Exchange. The chairman & managing director of the company is Vedant Birla.
