Central District (Darmian County)

The Central District of Darmian County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان درمیان) is in South Khorasan province, Iran.

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 21,409 in 5,163 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 23,822 people in 6,166 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 23,550 inhabitants in 6,376 households.[2]

After the 2016 census, Fakhrud Rural District was separated from Qohestan District, and Miyandasht Rural District from the Central District in the establishment of Miyandasht District. In addition, Nughab Rural District was established in the Central District, and Kushkak Rural District in Qohestan District.[5]
