On April 23, 2006, she died at St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City at age of 46.
She is survived by her three children, Victor (from her relationship with an Italian director); and Timothy and Michaela (with her widower Mike)

Pasado na si Chat Silayan sa pagi-emcee pero si Roy Alvarez ay halatang kinakabahan and was too dependent sa kanyang mga cue cards [sic].
