History

Chester Presbyterian Church was organized on June 16, 1878. The church was eventually built in 1880 on the east side of Winfree Street designed by architect Grove, T. Martin. The belfry was reconstructed after being blown off in 1948. The church moved to Osborne Road in 1951 but soon got moved again in 1954 to Osborne Road and VA 10.[3] Major expansions had happened in 1956 which had led to most of what the church is now. In 2000, the Fellowship Hall, the kitchen, and the Preschool classrooms had been built.[4]
