Chris Williamson (TV personality)
Chris Williamson is an English podcaster, YouTuber and former television personality. He appeared on the first series of Love Island in 2015. Since 2018 he has hosted the Modern Wisdom podcast, which has been downloaded more than 80 million times.[1]

Early life and education
Williamson was born in 1988 in Stockton-on-Tees, North East England. He excelled at cricket as a child and played for the Durham Academy.[1] Whilst studying at Newcastle University he began a career in nightclub promotion.[1]
Career
Williamson was a contestant on Take Me Out in 2012[1] before gaining wider public attention on the first season of Love Island[2] in 2015, but didn't feel he belonged on the show.[1]
Modern Wisdom
In 2018, Williamson started his own podcast show, Modern Wisdom with the subtitle "life lessons from the smartest people on the planet". He discusses current events, politics, philosophy, science and hobbies with a variety of guests including Jordan Peterson, Steven Pinker, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Will MacAskill, Robin Dunbar, Michael Malice, Sam Harris, Eric Weinstein, and Patrick Moore.
In 2020, Williamson took a more professional approach to Modern Wisdom. He worked with speech, theatre and comedy coaches, and sought out more prominent guests.[1]
In October 2020, the show had been downloaded more than 80 million times,[1] and as of September 2023, has 1.24 million subscribers on YouTube.[3]
