Dina Galíndez

Dina Galíndez (born circa 1944 Córdoba) was an Argentine paralympic athlete. She specialized in adapted athletics and wheelchair basketball. Galíndez won six medals, with two gold medals, at the 1968 Summer Paralympics, in Tel Aviv, in track and field and wheelchair basketball.

Career

Galíndez won gold medals in Women's Discus Throw A and Women's Club Throw A.[1][2] She won silver medals in Women's Novices 60 metres A, Women's Shot Put A, and Women's Wheelchair Basketball.[3][4][5][6] She won a bronze medal in Women's Javelin A.[7]

She was the most awarded athlete of those games, together with Silvia Cochetti.

Legacy

In her memory, the wheelchair basketball league of the province of Córdoba, competes annually for the Dina Galíndez Cup.[8][9]
