Eurovision Young Musicians 2024

The Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 is set to be the 21st edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians. It is set to take place in the Stormen Concert Hall in Bodø on 17 August 2024.[1][2] It is organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) alongside Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK).[3]

Location

The contest will be held at Stormen Concert Hall in Bodø, Norway

On 11 July 2023, the European Broadcasting Union announced on its official website that the contest would take place in the city of Bodø, Norway, during the city's role as European Capital of Culture.[3] On Twitter, the organisation confirmed that Stormen Concert Hall has been chosen as the venue in which the competition will take place.[4] This will be the second edition organised in Norway since the first one in 2000, when it was held in Bergen.[5]

Provisional list of participating countries

As of October 2023, Slovenia and Norway has confirmed its intention to participate in the contest. Slovenia returns to the contest after being absent in the previous edition. On their Facebook post, the European Broadcasting Union announced there were ten broadcaster slots available for the contest.[6][7]

Other countries

  •  Bulgaria  On 13 July 2023 Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT announced that they would not return for the 2024 edition.[11]
  •  Sweden  In the rules of the 2024 edition of Polstjärnepriset, the competition used to select Sweden's representative in Eurovision Young Musicians in past, no mention of the winner participating in Eurovision Young Musicians is made, with the winner instead performing at a concert in Vänersborg in the Autumn of 2024.[12] Swedish broadcaster SVT has yet to confirm whether a different selection method will be used or the country will withdraw from the competition.

Broadcasts

All participating broadcasters may choose to have on-site or remote commentators providing insight and voting information to their local audience. The European Broadcasting Union will also provide international live streams of the contest through their official YouTube channel with no commentary.
