Students who pass the Intermediate Level HSK test (the Chinese government language test for foreigners, akin to the TOEFL for English language testing) may choose another language. FDIS offers the IB Diploma programme for students in Grades 11 and 12.

History
The Fudan University High School (Fudan International School) was established in 1950 as a common high school directly subordinate to the university and the Ministry of Education.
In 1994, an international section was established to serve students from Hong Kong and Macao. This international division's role was expanded in 2002 to allow foreign passport holders to study a Chinese curriculum.
FDIS first opened its doors in September 2006, with a 10th grade cohort of 11 pupils. As of September 2008, the school has 100 pupils in grades 6 through 12 (56 boys and 44 girls). All students must have a foreign passport or a green card. Our present student body includes more than 200 students from all around the world.
