Ganga Narayan Shrestha

Ganga Narayan Shrestha (Nepali: गंगानारायण श्रेष्ठ) is a Nepalese politician belonging to Nepal Socialist Party. Shrestha is also serving as member of Bagmati Provincial Assembly.[1]

Shrestha is currently serving as Minister for Internal Affairs of Bagmati Province.[2] Shrestha is also joint chairman of Nepal Socialist Party.[3]

Ganga Narayan Shrestha (born 21 February 1970) is a Nepalese politician. Currently he is Joint chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party, Nepal. Apart from politics, he has been publishing many literary works. He has also worked as editor in many magazines and has been writing on politics and contemporary issues. Shrestha was known by his nickname "Prabhat" during the Peoples War, but nowadays prefers to be called Ganga "Manav"(Human) opposing the discriminatory Hindu cast system. But he has written only Ganga Shrestha in about a dozen books and hundreds of minor works.

  • In 24th Baishakh 2053, he was arrested from Amale VDC of Sindhuli District.
  • In 2057, released from jail after 5 years 3 months of prison term.
  • In 2060, he became Alternate Central Committee Member of CPN (Maoist).
  • In 2062, he became Political Commissioner of the People's Liberation Army, Vishal-Kumar Memorial Brigade of Nepal.
  • In 206…, he became member of the Central Secretariat of the All Nepal People's Cultural Federation.
  • In 2064, he became central committee member of Ichchhuk Pratisthan.
  • He became Member of the Interim Legislature Parliament from 2063 Magh 1st to 2064.
  • In 2065, he became Central committee member of CPN (Maoist).
  • In 2065, he became Co-incharge of Kochila State Committee.
  • In 2071, he became Politburo member of Unified CPN (Maoist).
  • He became the Chief Personal Secretary of 35th Prime Minister of Nepal Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from August 2011 to March 2013.
  • He became a central committee member of the Naya Shakti Party and a member of the headquarters from 2072 to 2075.
  • In 2076, he became the Central General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, Nepal.
  • In 2077, he became the Joint chairman of Nepal Socialist Party Nepal.
