Goronyo
Goronyo is a Local Government Area in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Goronyo, on the Sokoto River. It has an area of 1,704 km2 and a population of 182,296 at the 2006 census.[1] The postal code of the area is 842.[2]

The LGA is the location of the Goronyo Dam, upstream of Goronyo town to the east.
Climate
The climate has two distinct seasons, with temperatures ranging from 62°F to 105°F during the hot, oppressive wet season and blistering, windy dry season.[3][4]

In Goronyo, the months of April and January have the greatest and lowest temperatures respectively throughout the year.[3]
