Imaginary is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-written with Greg Erb, Jason Oremland and Bryce McGuire. The film stars Betty Buckley and is produced by Wadlow, and Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner.

Premise

After a woman returns to her childhood home, she finds that her apparently real imaginary friend is not happy that they were left behind.[4]

Production

In February 2023, Deadline Hollywood reported that Lionsgate acquired worldwide rights to the Blumhouse horror film, Imaginary.[4] The film was written by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb, Jason Oremland and Bryce McGuire, with Wadlow also directing.[4]

On an estimated budget (before tax incentives) of $13 million, principal photography took place in New Orleans from May to late June 2023.[3][6]

Release

Imaginary is scheduled to be released theatrically by Lionsgate on February 2, 2024.[7]
