Information Branch
The Information Department or the Information Branch (Arabic: شعبة المعلومات/فرع المعلومات), known informally as the Information (Arabic: المعلومات), is the intelligence unit of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces Directorate (ISF), officially tasked with gathering, processing, and analyzing national and military intelligence, criminal investigation, espionage, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism.[1]

Acting as a counterweight to the intelligence unit of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), it was extensively trained and supplied by the United States, France, and Germany. Having undergone training in the Alps, its elite Strike Force is equipped with advanced firearms and devices.[2][3]
Recognized as one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the Middle East, its operatives have been subject to targeted assassinations and assassination attempts.[4]
