Cek (also, Jek, Dzheg and Dzhek) is a village in the Quba Rayon of Azerbaijan. The village forms part of the municipality of Əlik.[1] They live, primarily, in the region around Mount Shahdag in Quba Rayon in northeastern Azerbaidzhan.[2]
Population
In 1886 their population was estimated at 7,767.[2]
In 1926 their population was estimated at 607.[2] Although only 607 individuals claimed Dzhek ethnicity, 4,348 listed Dzhek as their native language.[2] These were probably Dzheks who listed themselves as Azerbaidzhans speaking Dzhek as their native language.[2]
