Kathrin Moosdorf

Kathrin Moosdorf (born in Aachen, Germany in 1981) is a German politician (A90/The Greens). She is Senator for the Environment, Climate and Science of Bremen.

Early life

Kathrin Moosdorf grew up in Aachen and studied studied political science. She worked as Federal managing director of the Nature Conservation Youth of NABU and federal chairwoman of the St. Georg Girl Scout Association.[1][2]

Political career

Kathrin Moosdorf has been a member of the A90/The Greens since 2010. After the Greens suffered heavy losses in the 2023 Bremen state election, they had to give up power in the new coalition (SPD/A90/The Greens/The Left).[3][4][5] Responsibility for traffic and construction went to the new Özlem Ünsal (SPD) Senator for Mobility, Urban Development and Housing. Moosdorf became Senator for the Environment, Climate and Science of Bremen.[6]

Like her predecessor Maike Schaefer, she said, that she wanted to develop Bremen as a “sponge city”.[7]
