Kelardasht County

Kelardasht County (Persian: شهرستان کلاردشت) is in Mazandaran province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Kelardasht.

At the 2006 census, the region's population (as the former Kelardasht District of Chalus County) was 20,381 in 5,759 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 17,350 people in 5,390 households,[4] by which time Kelardasht Rural District had split into Kelardasht-e Gharbi and Kelardasht-e Sharqi Rural Districts.[5]

At the 2016 census, the population was 23,648 in 8,067 households,[2] when the district had separated from Chalus County to establish Kelardasht County.[6] Kelardasht corresponds to historical Kelarestaq.[7]

The county is bordered by Chalus County on the east, Tonekabon County on the west, Abbasabad County on the north, and Alborz province on the south.
