Kent Lee (politician)
Kent Lee is an American politician serving as a member of the San Diego City Council. He represents the 6th District in the San Diego City Council, which encompasses the neighborhoods of Miramar, Mira Mesa, and parts of Rancho Peñasquitos.[1] He assumed office in December 2022, replacing termed-out city council member Chris Cate. As Cate was the only Republican on the City Council, Lee's election led to a complete lockout of Republicans from the San Diego City Council.[2]

Early life and education
Lee was born in West Covina, California to Chinese immigrants from Vietnam and Burma. He moved to Orange County for high school and then moved to San Diego for college.[3]
Career
Lee worked as the Director of Development & Marketing for the Boy Scouts of America's San Diego-Imperial Council.[4] He served as the executive director for Pacific Arts Movement, a nonprofit media arts organization which coordinates the San Diego Asian Film Festival.[3]
He has stated that his top policy priorities are addressing homelessness, housing attainability, and infrastructure and transit.[5] As a member of the City Council of San Diego, he serves as a non-voting board member of the North County Transit District, which operates Coaster, Sprinter, and bus service in San Diego County.[6]
Personal life
Lee and his wife, Phuong, have two children and live in the Mira Mesa neighborhood of San Diego.[3]
