Komagata Station

Komagata Station (駒形, Komagata-eki) is a passenger railway station in the city of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).[1]

Komagata Station is served by the Ryōmō Line, and is located 74.9 rail kilometers from the terminus of the line at Oyama Station, and 16.8 km from Takasaki Station. The preceding station of Isesaki is 5.8 km away and the following station of Maebashi-Ōshima is 3.2 km away.

Station layout

The station consists of one side platform and one island platform connected by a footbridge. The station contains automatic ticket vending machine.The station has many accessibility features such as elevators, Mobility scooter access, wheelchair-accessible bathroom, and a Braille Fare table.[2]

History

Komagata Station was opened on 20 November 1889.[1] The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987. Komagata station started accepting Suica cards on 18 November 2001. On 28 March 2011 a new elevated station building was completed.

The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office was closed on 30 November 2021.[4]
