Kuhpayeh
Kuhpayeh (Persian: كوهپايه, also Romanized as Kūhpāyeh, Kūhpāye and Koohpayeh; also known as Kūhpā and Qohpayeh)[3] is a city in Tudeshk District of Kuhpayeh County, Isfahan province, Iran, and serves as capital of the county and the district.[4] Kuhpayeh is a historic city 70 kilometres (43 mi) east of Isfahan.

At the 2006 census, its population was 4,417 in 1,200 households, when it was in the former Kuhpayeh District of Isfahan County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 4,587 people in 1,335 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,518 people in 1,765 households.[2]
The district was separated from Isfahan County in July 2021, elevated to the status of Kuhpayeh County, and divided into Sistan and Tudeshk Districts, each with two rural districts. Kuhpayeh was designated as the county's capital.[4]
The town has a distinct language/dialect of Farsi, known as "Velayati" or " Kuhpaye'i" and very similar to the Gazi language, which belongs to the northwestern Iranian languages (Indo-European -> Indo-Iranian -> Iranian -> Western -> Northwestern II -> Tatic -> Kermanic/Central Plateau -> Southwestern -> Velayati/Gazi).
The town is where the film The Stoning of Soraya M. is depicted.[7]
