Luis Malagón
Luis Ángel Malagón Velázquez (born 2 March 1997) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga MX club América and the Mexico national team.[1]

Club career
Santos Laguna
Malagón started his career in the Santos Laguna youth system. He played there for a year and then played another year in his native city's club Real Zamora.
Morelia
Malagón continued his youth career in the Morelia youth system. He had his Copa MX debut on 16 February 2016 against Necaxa in which he conceded the winning goal in the 88th minute, losing 1–0. On 5 April 2019, Malagón made his Liga MX debut vs Puebla. He had 3 saves and the match ended in a 1–1 tie.
Necaxa
In the summer of 2020, Malagón transferred to Necaxa. He was the undisputed starter for Necaxa where he had 72 appearances, in which he had 18 clean sheets (25%).
America
On 31 December 2022, Malagón made his transfer to Club América. On 11 March 2023, he took over as the starter against Tigres UANL. Malagón recorded a clean sheet and the team won 2–0.
International career
Youth
Malagón was called up by Jaime Lozano to participate with the under-23 team at the 2019 Pan American Games,[2] with Mexico winning the third-place match.[3] He also participated at the 2020 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship. In the final group stage match against the United States, Malagón suffered an elbow injury, causing him to miss the rest of the tournament.[4] Mexico went on to win the competition. He was subsequently called up to participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Malagón won the bronze medal with the Olympic team.[5]
Senior
Malagón got his first call-up to the senior national team by Gerardo Martino for a friendly match against Chile in December 2021.[6]
